How do I run a speed test using an iOS device?

Please download the Speedtest by Ookla app from the App Store. Here’s how:​
  1. Open the App Store on your device.
  2. Tap the Search icon.
  3. Type “Speedtest by Ookla”, then tap the Search button on your virtual keyboard.
  4. Select "Speedtest by Ookla".
  5. Tap “Get” and then tap “Install”. Please put in your password for iTunes, if prompted. (Note: If you’ve previously uninstalled this app, tap the icon that looks like a cloud with an arrow pointing down so that the app will be reinstalled.)
  6. On your home screen, you’ll see the Speedtest icon. You’ll know that it’s completely installed when you can’t see a translucent circle on top of the Speedtest icon.

How to conduct a speed test using the Speedtest by Ookla app: 
  1. Once installed, open it from the home screen of your device.
  2. Tap on "Go" and wait for the results.
  3. Run the test 3 times.
    • NOTE: If it's our support team who requested for the speed tests, please tap the Results icon at the bottom of the screen, then take a screenshot of the results page.

If you’re using Wi-Fi and the connection speed is very slow, power cycling your modem/router may help improve your internet connection. To power cycle:​
  1. Turn off your modem/router.
  2. Unplug it from the power outlet.
  3. Plug it back in after 30 seconds.
  4. Turn on your modem/router.

If your internet download speed is running at 2 Mbps or faster, but you’re having issues with streaming or downloading videos, please contact us via email at support@hooq.tv and include a screenshot of your speed test results.
