How to clear your HOOQ app’s cache and data (Smart TV)

Is your Smart TV slowing down or are you encountering some problems while using the HOOQ app on your Smart TV? If so, clearing the cache and data of your HOOQ app should help. Here's what you'll need to do:


  1. From your Android TV's home screen, select Settings.
  2. Under the Settings menu, select Apps
  3. Select Running apps.
  4. Scroll to the HOOQ app and select it. 
  5. Scroll down and select Clear data, then choose OK.
  6. Select Clear cache, then choose OK.

Afterwards, please power off your Android TV using the remote control that came with it, then power it back on after a few seconds. 

That's it! Just launch the HOOQ app again, log in to your account, and you should be able to enjoy watching with ease. :)

 

You may try one of the options below (as steps may vary depending on the TV model).

Option 1:
  1. On the supplied remote control, press the HOME button.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Under TV category, select Apps.
  4. Under System apps, select HOOQ.
  5. Select Clear cache.
  6. Select OK.
Option 2:
  1. Press the Home button on your remote control, then select Broadcasting.
  2. Select Expert Settings.
  3. Select HbbTV Settings.
  4. Select Delete Browsing Data, then follow the prompts to clear any saved data on your television.
Afterwards, please power off your Samsung TV using the remote control that came with it, then power it back on after a few seconds. 

That's it! Just launch the HOOQ app again, log in to your account, and you should be able to enjoy watching with ease. :)

  1. Simply turn the TV off, then back on.
    • This will clear the system memory, close all open Apps and remove their stored session data.
    • Apps will all start from a fresh state if you’ll use this method.
  2. If you want to clear the HOOQ app only:
    • Select the Recent Apps button on the bottom left from the launcher bar.
    • Hover over the HOOQ app.
    • Hover over the upward facing arrow above the app (that will turn into a skull with an X).
    • Select the skull icon to close the app and remove it from memory.

That's it! Just launch the HOOQ app again, log in to your account, and you should be able to enjoy watching with ease. :)

  1. From the Amazon Fire TV home screen, select “Settings“.
  2. Select “Applications”, then “Manage Installed Applications”.
  3. Look for the “HOOQ” app, then select it.
  4. Select “Clear cache” or “Clear data”, then choose OK.

Afterwards, please power off your TV, then power it back on after a few seconds.

That's it! Just launch the HOOQ app again, and you should be able to enjoy watching with ease. :)
