How do I change my iTunes account’s country or region? (Apple iOS devices)

To use HOOQ, please make sure that you’re using a local iTunes account. Your country/region for your iTunes account should be the same as your country of registration.
                                  
  1. On your device (iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch), tap the Settings icon, then scroll down and select “iTunes & App Store”.
  2. Tap your Apple ID. If prompted, sign in with your Apple ID and password that you use with the iTunes Store.
  3. Tap “View Apple ID”.
  4. If prompted, enter your password again.
  5. Tap “Country/Region”. 
    • Can’t change your country or region? Visit the Apple support site to find out why and what you can do. (Link: https://support.apple.com/en-ph/HT204447)
  6. Tap “Change Country or Region”.
  7. Tap your new country, then tap “Next”.
    • Note: This is important because your iTunes account should be set locally (to the country where you’re trying to sign up for a HOOQ account). HOOQ is currently available in the Philippines, Thailand, India, Singapore and Indonesia.
  8. Review the “Terms and Conditions and Apple Privacy Policy”, then tap “Agree” if you agree to the terms and conditions.
  9. In the prompt that appears, tap “Agree”.
  10. Select a payment method and enter your payment information. 
    • Don’t have a credit/debit card in the country where you’re trying to sign up for a HOOQ account? Visit the Apple support site to learn more about how you can remove your Apple ID payment information from your previous country of registration.
    • If you’re not able to remove your previous payment information (that is, if you can’t select None when you edit your payment information), you’ll find the reason why and what you can do when you visit the Apple website
  11. Enter your billing address and tap “Next”.

Note: Your Apple ID country updates for all of your Apple services, on all of your Apple products.
