(Philippines) How to sign up for a paid subscription using your Android device?

Thanks for choosing HOOQ as your entertainment companion! :) You can easily get HOOQ'd up to a paid subscription with us. Read on to know more. 

Available payment methods:
  • Credit card (auto-renews, we accept those bearing Visa and/or MarsterCard logos)
  • Debit card (doesn’t auto-renew, we accept those bearing Visa and/or MasterCard logos)
  • Money Online/MOL Gold Points (one-time)
  • Charged via Globe/TM numbers (one-time or auto-renews)
  • Charged via Smart/TalkNTxt/Sun numbers (one-time or auto-renews)
  • Globe (mobile postpaid/broadband plan)

Ready to subscribe?  Here's how:
  1. Make sure you're connected to the internet, and then open the HOOQ app. 
  2. Log in to your HOOQ account. If you don't have a HOOQ account yet, tap on "Sign up" then follow these steps:
    • If signing up using your mobile number:
      • Tap the down arrow then select your country code.
      • Enter your mobile number in the specified box.
      • Tick the radio button to accept the HOOQ terms and conditions.
      • Tap on the “Done” button.
      • Select “YES” to confirm that you entered the right mobile number.
        • You’ll receive a 6-digit OTP verification code via text message.
        • If you don't receive a code within a few minutes, tap the "Resend Code" link.
      • Enter the verification code in the HOOQ app, then hit the “Next” button.
      • On the “Confirm Your Email” page, enter your email address and then tap the “Next” button.
    • If signing up using your email address:
      • Tick the radio button to accept the HOOQ terms and conditions.
      • Select Skip at the bottom of the Sign Up page.
      • Enter your email address.
      • Tap on the “Start your trial now” button.
  3. Open your inbox and look for the email from HOOQ. Verify your email address.
  4. Go back to the HOOQ app. You’ll see a pop-up message asking you to verify your email. Tap on the “I have verified” button.
  5. Once you’re on the Discover page, tap on ME icon (user icon) at the upper left corner of your screen.
  6. Select “Subscription”.
  7. Tap on “Subscribe now”.
    • If this is your first time to subscribe, you will be offered a 30-day free trial and you can get it as long as you're willing to set up your payment details upfront, then you will be charged once your trial period expires. If you're not ready to share your payment details yet, you can get HOOQ'd to the free 7-day trial instead.


 

  1. Select a recurring payment method that offers a 30-day trial.
  2. Tap on "Start your free trial now"
  3. Enter your payment details, then tap on “Make Payment”.
  4. Follow the prompts until you get a confirmation that your payment is successful. Note that you will be charged once your trial period expires.
 

 

  1. Tap the back arrow at the top left.
  2. Select "Sure, thanks!", then you can start getting HOOQ'd! :) 
 

 

  • For Prepaid customers: You can register to HOOQ by texting HOOQ59 or HOOQ149 to 8080, or dial *143# and choose Surfing then HOOQ.
  • For Postpaid/Broadband customers: You can register by calling the Globe Hotline at (02)730-1000, or by dialing 211 through a Globe mobile phone (toll-free).
    • New Globe Broadband customers who sign up to Plan 1299 and up will get a 6-month complimentary access to HOOQ.
    • Eligible Globe Postpaid subscribers are currently being offered a 3-month free trial access via SMS notification.

Note: If you're currently subscribed to a partner plan, you won't be able to purchase another partner plan unless you use a different mobile number/email to sign up a new account.
